Picked this up today. Just thought the lyrics from the album’s prelude were post-worthy, because, quite frankly, the first time I read them they sent shivers up my spine.
Sing us a song of the century
That’s louder than bombs and eternity
The era of static and contraband
That’s leading us to the promised land
Tell us a story that’s by candlelight
Waging a war and losing the fight
They’re playing the song of the century
Of panic and promise and prosperity
Tell me a story into that goodnight
Sing us a song for me
Also, I’ve booked a ticket and I’m off to America in October! Yep, the land of hamburgers, George W Bush and crazy right wing religious conservatives (hang on a second…). Should be a pretty crazy 3 weeks.
